About
From tranquil boat ride to ghostly voyage!
Your journey begins in a picturesque castle on the quay. But you soon realise this is no fairytale castle. You hold your breath as the ship climbs a high wave... You feel as if something is about to happen... Nearly there... And then... Splash!!! Only by completing a ghostly journey can you escape the curse of The Flying Dutchman. You have butterflies in your stomach and there’s a good chance your clothes will get wet!
The Flying Dutchman is based on the story of Willem van der Decken, captain of Den Hollander, one of the Dutch East India Company’s fleet of ships. Willem van der Decken defied all rules, decency and the elements. He tempted fate one too many times and caused his own downfall. His ship was transformed into a mysterious, fiery, ghost ship that was doomed to sail the seven seas for all eternity, as The Flying Dutchman.
