With 5 locations and growing, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is the original "Slippery Road" and one of the largest waterparks we've ever visited! Split into 2 sections, the West side and East side, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has 40+ attractions across the resort, all connected by the Comal River.

This year Schlitterbahn celebrates a fifty-year tradition of providing great family fun. Bob and Billye Henry moved their three children to New Braunfels to take over a small resort on the banks of the Comal River on Labor Day of 1966, kicking off a family business that would, in time, grow into Schlitterbahn. That small resort has grown into a company with a total of three resorts, two indoor waterparks, five outdoor waterparks, two full service restaurants and a country club — all focused on providing family entertainment.

We knew it would be a full day of trying to explore and experience everything Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has to offer. So getting there right when the park opens and staying until closing, we still weren't able to try everything. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels can be better enjoyed as a multi day vacation. A Blast Pass front-of-the-line feature is also offered for an additional fee to get more out of your stay.

I spent a lot of time visiting lazy rivers, pools and interactive areas and there's so many of them! My favorite type of lazy-type river is a themed one and Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has one of my favorites! The Congo River Expedition is a great jungle expedition theme with water-squirting animatronics, misters and if you're brave enough to continue, float through the abandoned mine and slide down a very cool waterfall.

For those with young and small children, there's still so much to do. Wade & Wave Pools, kids areas and lazy-rivers are plentiful. In the center of the The Congo River Expedition attraction is an oasis called the Lava Lagoon Heated Pool with a volcano spewing hot water into a heated pool. There's also many interactive areas, with one of the biggest one found on the East side, with 4 water slides and tons of fun; Han's Hideout, a pirate themed multi-story water fun house with slides.

For those that want a little more excitement and love Thrillz as much as us, there's two water-coaster type slides that are a must! The Master Blaster Uphill Water Coaster is a awesome, fast, extreme, double tube water coaster that's a must-ride attraction at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. In addition to the award winning Master Blaster is a medieval and dragon themed water slide coaster, Dragon's Revenge. This is a great themed ride with tons of water and lots of dips, twists and turns.

With over 40 attractions it's easy to miss a few attractions, but back at the West (Original) side of the resort, the Hillside Tube Chute & Raging River Tube Chute are too much fun to forget. With over an hour of ride time between the two attractions, these tube rides are not only bumpy and full of falls and turns, but they both are feed from filtered water from the Comal River and the water is so fresh and cool.

Schlitterbahn’s commitment to the environment is long standing. From the way the original park was designed to flow among trees, to the commitment to water conservation (98% of the water is recycled through filtration), to maintaining recycling containers throughout the parks, Schlitterbahn believes in sustainability. The development team, which builds our new parks and attractions at Schlitterbahn, constantly looks for ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
