If you're counting, we're currently at 6 Slide Into Summer blog posts and my farmer's tan is on point! We've visited a lot of different types of water parks, and Schlitterbahn Galveston Island is no exception.
Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston is the hottest-coolest and most thrilling destination for your family! Longer rides, more thrilling slides, always free parking, free tubes, and picnics welcome! Continue your family tradition and visit us again or make a new tradition by splashing into summer fun for the very first time!
Visiting a waterpark on the coast is great. The smell of the salt sea air, the ocean view, gorgeous sunsets and getting to experience all of this inside a water park makes summer in Galveston a hot spot for fun.
The theming of Schlitterbahn Galveston Island is a combination of old reconciled boats and sea memorabile recycled and reused as decor around the water park, mixed with an island/coastal vibe. Picnic style food and drinks are welcomed into the water park with an amazing selection of table and seating areas found everywhere. This is a great place to set up for the day and keep all your stuff in one area.
Getting to ride some of the many attractions found at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island was a real treat. Hands down, my favorite attraction, is the new water coaster: MASSIV Monster Blaster. This 900+ foot water coaster moves fast, is over 8 stories tall and twists and turns more times that I can remember. This is definitely an extreme attraction and can't be missed. It's worth the wait. See our overview video for some POV footage of the ride.
I'm lazy and lazy rivers are my favorite way to spend my time in between themepark food and riding waterslides. But Schlitterbahn Galveston Island has my new favorite lazy river. 3-in-1. That's right float through a calm, traditional lazy river called the Kristal River on either a single or double tube while riding the currents around the entire Surfenberg area. This endless river connects all areas of the park and is merged together to the Whitewater River and the Torrent River which is part of the "Transportainment River System", which allows guests to float throughout the entire park without ever leaving the water through these 3 rivers.
The Kristal River is one third of massive lazy river attraction and is calm, serene and has zero-entry beach coves to get in and out of. Continuing to the next third of this crazy lazy river is Torrent River which combines a classic lazy river with a wave pool in an enclosed area that has a retractable roof! This was an intense mix and unexpected for a tube river, but I enjoyed this new combination thoroughly. Finally the Whitewater River, which is a rapid-like fast moving tubing adventure that must be experienced backwards and forwards, single and double tubed, and you access this part of the river from the Kristal River while riding a conveyer belt for tubes, called the Aquaveyer. Thanks Schlitterbahn Galveston Island for taking "lazy river" to the next level by letting us stay in the water while getting to our next attraction!
This large water park is full of kids attractions, heated pools (with a bar!), raft rides, body slides, water coasters (more than 1), lazy rivers, bodyboarding, great food, lots of rooms and areas to hang out and sit, beaches, and so much more. So grab your family and some friends, then head to the nearest Schlitterbahn for some fun in the sun!
