Plopsa will open her first wooden rollercoaster in Plopsaland de Panne in July. This is also the second wooden coaster in Belgium. The ride will bear the name 'Heidi The Ride'.

About Heidi

The wooden coaster will be themed according to the Heidi TV Show. The show was first introduced to the bigger audience in 1977 in Germany, and from there 'the little girl from the alps' spread out to Germany's neighboring countries.

Several years ago (2008), Studio 100 (owner of Plopsa), got the rights of the show and in 2015 a renewed series was made.

Investment: 6 million euro's

Because of the rising popularity of the TV Show in the flemish part of Belgium and surrounding countries, the rollercoaster will get a Swiss theme, and the name of the coaster carries the name of the main character from the show. The whole project consists of two fases. In the first fase, the rollercoaster and the stationbuilding was built, rght next to the ride De Boomstammetjes. The rollercoaster itself consists fully of a wooden construction and contains two carts, which can hold 12 persons each. The ride will open in July for the big audience.

The second fase starts in the fall of 2016 and will result in a complete new themed area built around the wooden coaster in 2017. Fase two consists of the theming and creation of the area that will be called 'Heidiland'. This area will also contain a restaurant, shop and partially covered terrace.
