It’s been a couple of years, 2010 to be exact, when the Efteling mentioned a new darkride attraction that’s supposed to be the biggest and most expensive ride in the whole park ‘Hartenhof’. This attraction was meant to be the home of Eftelings mascot Pardoes, a jester with magical powers and guardian of fairytales. It should’ve been opened in 2012, but that never happened.
Now, 6 years later, Hartenhof is back in the picture, only this time with a different name and a slightly different design. The name they’ve chosen: Symbolica.
The summer of 2017 will bring us much joy, Gepetto’s home will be available for visits in the fairytale forest, and Symbolica will be built. That’s 2 for the price of... 1 entrance ticket, and I personally cannot wait!
According to the Efteling: ‘Symbolica will be part of the Realm of Fantasy, along with Polles Keuken and is placed at the end of the Brink, in the middle of the park. The build itself will cost around 35 million Euro’s, and it will be the biggest and most expensive ride ever build in the Efteling.’
In a palace where Pardoes is the host, visitors are invited to rediscover their own fantasy. This will happen through an adventure in magical hidden rooms in the Palace of Fantasy. Visitors will choose between three different routes and go on a trip with a maximum of 6 people in a chariot called a Fantasievaarder (Fantasysailor). The different routes with interactive elements, create a whole unique adventure through the Palace of Fantasy.Reference Link(s): Press Release
